Kyle Bartels' two-day Agriculture in the Classroom training was an immersive agricultural experience resulting from a STEM Scale-Up Award.
Kyle toured some amazing facilities like Robinson Implement in Irwin, Ferry Farms, and AMVC in Audubon (did you know they're the 8th largest pork producer in the country?).
But that's not all! Kyle also did a virtual tour of Grady's Greenhouse in Carroll and heard from Adam Gittins about high-tech agricultural solutions.
This blend of hands-on tours and classroom work will bring fresh ideas to bring agriculture to life for our students.

In 2022, Iowa led the way with the Teacher & Paraeducator Registered Apprenticeship Program, creating new pathways to success in education. We're thrilled to announce that two of our dedicated staff members have completed this innovative program and will join us as full-fledged teachers for the 2024-2025 school year!
Please join us in congratulating one of two of our newly hired teachers, as a result of this opportunity.

Are you ready for some football?
With the 2024 Tiger football season approaching, it’s time to discuss reserved parking spaces overlooking the field.
There are 10 parking spaces with a full view of the football field. We are placing these prime spaces in a silent auction and allowing those interested to bid on them. The parking space will be rewarded to whoever has the highest bid for that specific spot, if there is a spot with multiple bids at the same amount it will go to whoever made the bid first.
All money collected from this program goes directly to the Woodbine Activities Department to support all Activities programs!
The link to the bidding form is on the flyer, as well as here:

Just a friendly reminder: The Unified Activity Federation (Iowa High School Athletic Association, Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, Iowa High School Music Association, and Iowa High School Speech Association) Non-Contact Period for the summer of 2024 will be Sunday, July 28, 2024, through Sunday, August 4, 2024. This is the third year of an annual break in activities across Iowa each summer. During this time, there will be no activities in the Woodbine Community School District to include camps, clinics, workouts, strength and conditioning, lessons, meetings, etc.

Exciting news! Shawna Harris has been awarded the Turing Tumble STEM Scale-Up award!
Shawna spent her summer at a training day in Creston, proving that dedicated educators never stop learning. The Turing Tumble is an innovative STEM game that teaches computer fundamentals through marble-powered, mechanical computers.
Imagine students solving logic puzzles with their hands instead of screens, all while reading an engaging graphic novel! It's a fun, tactile way to grasp coding concepts and build computational thinking skills.

Summer break? Not for these dedicated educators!
Maureen Allen and Shawna Harris are spending their summer at STEM Scale-Up training, focusing on Artificial Intelligence for K-12 Educators. This innovative program combines in-person workshops, virtual modules, and collaborative sessions to bring AI into the classroom.
What's on the agenda?
• Exploring AI perception and natural interaction
• Discussing the societal impact of AI
• Creating and sharing lesson plans with peers
Kudos to these teachers for preparing our students for the future!
