Empowering Every Voice
We are thrilled to share that our school is becoming even more inclusive! Through a recently awarded grant, we are installing ADA Communication Boards in key areas around our school.
What are they? These boards are a form of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication). They help non-verbal, neurodivergent, or ESL students express needs and feelings by pointing to icons.
Why it matters:
Social Skills: Gives kids a "common language" to play together.
Independence: Kids can start a game of tag without needing an adult to translate!
Reduced Frustration: Visual aids can reduce frustration-based meltdowns by up to 50%.
Look for these new boards on both playgrounds and in the Commons! We are dedicated to making sure every student who walks through our doors feels heard and safe.

Get ready for an exciting afternoon at the Monarch Relays! Our high school boys' and Girls' track teams will compete at the Denison High School Track. Field events start at 4:00 PM, followed by the first running event at 4:30 PM. Girls will throw the shot first, and boys will throw the discus first.

From sprint medleys to future home builder: Dillon plans to attend Metro Community College to earn his HVAC/R degree and is already saving to buy/build a house for his family in 10 years. Proud son of Matt & Heather Reed and big brother to Wyatt (15) and Evan (11). Fun fact: he can’t sleep without his teddy bear and a night light. Favorite high school memory? Winning state in the sprint medley for track. Advice to underclassmen: “Take advantage of your opportunities.”

Have you heard of Coach Rod Smith? For 33 years, he was the heartbeat of Woodbine track, athlete, farmer-turned-coach, head coach, mentor, and the one who helped raise a legacy. We’re proud to announce that the CO-ED Invitational will be named the Rod Smith Invitational in his honor. Join us tonight at 4:30 PM for field events and 5:00 PM for running events to celebrate a man who coached his own kids to state, learned from great mentors, and gave so much to our community.
