The WCSD has created a 13-step process that focuses on personalizing the educational experience for students. This process is known as Personalized Learning.
Personalized Learning is simply put, personalized learning for students. It is changing the system to personalize the experience for every student and it certainly has been a journey.
Since the first presentation of those 13 steps during the WCSD Board Retreat in July of 2021, there have been over 20 times Personalized Learning has been
discussed publicly at the WCSD board level. Our adventure started with a video series breaking down the 13 steps into family-friendly terms in January of 2022. We are now relaunching the videos as we have made strides in the last two years. We love to share our students' success and experiences throughout the week, as they deserve to be celebrated. Our goal is to continue to share the difference WCSD is making when it comes to education. Unparalleled learning, at the students' pace.
We have included best practices in helping students learn, face-to-face direct instruction, learning management systems that capture students' learning needs, and electronic platforms that assist in providing real-time feedback focused on individual growth. This is and will continue to be a work in progress knowing that with each growth moment, we get closer and closer to a truly personalized educational system that’s focused on your student's needs.
